Results of the ITU Working group meeting in Baku

On September 7-9, 2010 in Baku, the Azerbaijan Republic, the Working group 4th session on the work with International Telecommunication Union (ITU) (ITU WG) before the Commission of the Regional Communications Union (RCU) on the coordination of international cooperation (CIC), and the 23rd session of RCU Commission itself on the coordination of international cooperation took place.

At the sessions, representatives of the Azerbaijan Republic, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kirghiz Republic, the Russian Federation, the Republic of Uzbekistan, Belarus and Ukraine communications administrations have taken part.
Main issues being considered at the 4th session of ITU WG, are: discussion of the results of World Telecommunication Development Conference (WTDC 10, May 24-June 4, 2010, Hyderabad, India), preparation of the Communications Administration (CA) RCU to World International Telecommunications Conference ITU of 2012 (WITC-12), to World Telecommunications Standardization Assembly ITU of 2012 (WTSA-12), preparation of RCU General proposals RUC for the ITU Conference of 2010 (PC-10, October 4-22, 2010, Guadalajara, Mexico).
Members of the Working group have focused attention on the preparation to the ITU Plenipotentiary  Conference of 2010.
In the course of the Working group session, tasks of the Plenipotentiary conference, the main issues have been discussed. ITU perspectives, first of all, in the light of the Union role and place in the formation of information society; revision of ITU basic documents including terms definitions; realization of decisions; state policy on the Internet management; issues on the revision of International Telecommunications Regulation; the committee on audit have been considered as well.


Preparation and discussion of CA RCU general proposals project for PC-10 have been conducted at ITU WG session and CIC as well. In total 16 documents have been discussed. On eleven contributions, the support of seven RCU communication administrations has been received.


Discussions have been conducted in live debating conditions. From five contributions of the Republic of Uzbekistan, two have been accepted as the general RCU contributions. Ideas and object-matter of other contributions presented by Uzbekistan have found reflection and have been considered in other RCU contributions.


It should be noted that elaboration of Uzbekistan CA contributions into ITU Plenipotentiary conference 2010 has been carried out by the leading experts of SUE "UNICON.UZ", Center of scientific-technical and marketing research, within the limits of R&D work «Research of the issues of ITU activity restructuring and preparation of the Communications Administration contribution of the Republic of Uzbekistan into ITU PC-10 »
